In the era of premier leagues and 20-over overdose, Nepalaya International is immensely proud to announce the brand new season of ODI nation Nepal’s only premier one-day cricket league event Prime Minister Cup’s third edition, second under our management, is set to hit floors from 1^st Jestha, 2076 i.e 15^th May, 2019. The 50- over per side multi-team tournament, most in Nepal, will be the longest domestic event of the country with its final set to be played on 25^th Jestha, 2076 i.e 8^th June, 2019.

After the grand success of the mega event last year, when we were able to bring mainstream attention to the tournament, we are pleased to inform the prestigious cricket legacy of Prime Minister Cup 2019, as its name holds, Nepalaya will take organization to next level.

An important tournament in Nepal’s yearly cricket calendar, a stage where fringe players dares to dream to make a name for himself, all the national players will be representing their respective region along with their the big three departmental teams, Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club and Armed Police Force. Cricket has been a matter of pride for Nepal complementing with achievements at world stage. The new unknown players have bagged lucrative deals in franchise T20 leagues and to an extent went on to earn a national cap. Prime Minister Cup is a revolution with an honest intention of further developing the existing one-day league to substantial many months long cricket season for Nepal and its passionate and naturally talented cricketers.

The competition will be held at Mecca of Nepali cricket, TU Ground, where 7 powerhouse Province Teams will tussle with 3 Departmental Teams to aim for the main title, that is, Prime Minister Cup 2019.

Objectives

• The main purpose of PM Cup is to establish a premier 50-over event for an ODI nation which primary purpose is to defend the status in four years’ time granted by the apex body of cricket ICC last year.
• The essential tournament which gives ideal platform for new and unknown cricket players to participate and showcase their skills and talents and develop into an option for national cricket team.
• Develop a provincial professional setup by introducing provincial inter-club and inter_district tournaments for the selection of deserving players for the final respective provincial teams.
• Sports is a youth oriented career, To help the budding cricketers on importance of balancing academic education with sport, lectures and workshops for the selected and interested cricketers will be held.
• A distinguished expert cricket panel which will include current and former cricketers and coaches to observe and promote the talents in display in a proper manner, analyzing and predicting the potential future trajectory of stars emerging from the PM Cup.
• Broadcasting milestone in Nepal’s context covering 23 days of live cricket, 8-9 hours of per day, providing unprecedented mileage for involved sponsors, players, experts, commentary, and other digital achievements by the end of marquee event.
• Develop a user-friendly quality cricket website that will include every important detail about the PM Cup and othet major events of Nepalaya International.

• An official selection tournament recognized by National Sports Council (NSC) which rewards the players with national call-ups or contract with the departmental teams or at very least help them get franchise contracts.
• Spotting players like Dipendra Singh Airee in college leagues to Bhim Sarki in PM Cup, Nepalaya International has invariably helped national cricket team with bankable and dependable players.
• Individual performances like a century and a hat-trick in same match during amatch in PM Cup last year helped a relatively unknown entity Hari Bahadur Chauhan to become nationwide sensation overnight. He further went on to get lucrative deals in franchise leagues and bag a contract with Tribhuvan Army Club. Same can said for Bipin Khatri and similar other players who rose to prominence after a good performance in the PM Cup. Thanks to its format which allows players to get necessary playtime.
